Instagram Influencers Attend A Scenes Reels Ceremony

The Parent Company Of Facebook And Instagram

Meta, the parent company of Instagram and Facebook, is partnering with the Academy for short-form content leading up to and during the Oscars ceremony. In an alternate move to appeal to younger and broader audiences, the Academy has teamed up with Meta, the Instagram, and Facebook parent company, to bring creators to this weekday Oscars to create abbreviated content on Reels.

The Twelve Creators

Twelve creators, including Boman Martinez-Reid, Rickey Thompson, Remi Bader, and Denzel Dion – will attend the Oscars red carpet, the ceremony at the Dolby Theater, and the Governors Ball to make content for Reels. An additional 11 reels creators will attend the Oscars preshow for content that will share exclusively on Facebook and Instagram.

Reels Creator With Unparalleled Experience

The Reels creators have "unparalleled access to bring viewers closes to the Oscars experience," according to Julie Geer, the head of creator networks and streaming partnerships at Meta.The award, while unofficial, is a nod to the most popular film category that the Academy initially toyed within 2019 before ultimately scrapping the idea due to push back from members and critics.
