Darron Lee Was Charged With Assault On His Mother And The Mother Of His Child

An assault charge was filed against Daron Lee and his girlfriend, with whom he has a 2-year-old son. According to the Franklin County Municipal Court, the former NFL player was arraigned on Tuesday for two incidents, one on October 17 and another on Monday.

There will be a court appearance on April 27 for him. He has been charged with misdemeanor assaults and domestic violence - knowingly causing injury. For each incident, a temporary protective order has been enacted. A request for comment from the athlete's lawyer has not yet been answered.

It felt unsafe to Lindsey

A report by Fox News alleges that Lee assaulted his mother and his son's mother, Candice Lee, and Lindsey McGlone, his 2-year-old son's mother. A police report obtained by the outlet indicates that Lindsey was the one who called the police in Dublin, Ohio. Candice was there because Lindsey said she felt unsafe.

In Lindsey's report, Candice was lying on her back with Lee standing over her with a raised fist. Darron allegedly punched her in the face, pushed her to the ground, and shoved her against the wall. According to the outlet, she was treated in a local hospital for facial injuries.

October was the month Lindsey told the police

In October, Lindsey told police that he held her by the throat and threw her to the ground, threatening her and their son with death. News reported that Darron told her he would kill her and their son before assaulting her.

The Columbus Dispatch reported that Darron told police he was hit by a female relative on Monday. After changing his story, he said his cheek was discolored due to a skin condition. According to court documents, Darron says Lindsey also assaulted him in October, but he never threw anything at her or choked her.

Infringing on performance standards

She wrote a journal entry after the October incident that led police to arrest him after seeing pictures of her injuries. After posting bail, Lee is prohibited from going near his mother or Lindsey after posting a bond set at $20,000 for each incident, according to the Columbus Dispatch.

While at Ohio State University, Daron was a linebacker for the team that won the national championship in 2014. After playing for the Jets two years later, he was suspended for four games in his third season after allegedly violating performance-enhancing drug rules. He was selected as the 20th overall pick two years later.
