Quavo Assistant
Quavo longtime personal assistant, Joshua Washington, has decided to press charges against the venue where Takeoff was killed.
Shooting Victim
Washington who was also one of the shooting victims who was promptly taken to a nearby hospital luckily survived after the bullet barely missed his colon.
Lawsuit Against Bowling Alley
He recently acquired the assistance of legal representatives suing 810 Houston billiards lounge and bowling alley, its owners, and their property managers.
Legal Representatives
Bakari Sellers from the Strom Law Firm and Audio Jones from the Law Office of Audio Jones are the attorneys representing Quavo’s assistant Washington.
Law suit Claims
The lawsuit claims that the venue and the organizers didn't provide enough security, screening measures, nor emergency assistance before and after the shooting.
Previous Lawsuit
This is surprisingly not the first lawsuit against the venue. Just few weeks after the death of Takeoff, his mother filed her own suit against the venue for lack of security.
Lack of adherence to Warnings
According to Washington, they warned the owners of 810 Houston of impending dangers as the the venue was a hotspot for crime and requested extra security.
No trained security Services
However, despite the owner’s reassurance that there were going to improve security, on the night of the shooting, there was no trained security officer on sight.
No security screening measures
Apart from having security guards, they didn’t also have a security system to screen for guns, which would have prevented the killer from entering with his weapon.
Help was not available
Lastly, Washington stated that even during the shooting, there were no measures out in place to safeguard their lives and they were left completely on their own.
Takeoff’s Death
This negligence on the part of 810 Houston owners and property managers led to the death of takeoff who was shot twice and was pronounced dead on the scene.
Blood on their hands
Washington has stated that the venue and its owners have blood on their hands and must pay for the role they played in the death of a friend and musical icon Takeoff.
Inability to secure evidence
Now, after almost a year of the incident, 810 Houston billiard and bowling alley has yet to produce a CCTV footage that could help identify and track the killer down.
