Adam Kimmel banned by the Academy
Cinematographer Adam Kimmel was banned by the Academy in 2021 and was even removed as a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
In November 2003, Adam Kimmel was arrested for having a sexual relationship with a minor girl and pleaded guilty in February 2004 to third-degree rape.
He was sentenced to 10 days of community service, ten years of probation, and ten years on the sex offender registry. Later Adam Kimmel acknowledged his guilt but called it consensual sex with an underage girl as he was 43 and the girl was just 15.
Three years after this sex offender case, he was invited to join the Academy. All those filmmakers who worked with Adam Kimmel told Variety that he never disclosed his rape conviction.
In 2010, Adam Kimmel was again arrested on charges of fourth-degree sexual assault for having a relationship with a 15-year-old girl. He even failed to register as a sex offender in Connecticut.

The current membership selection process is based on an honor system that relies on the integrity of prospective members, their sponsors, and branch committee members to disclose any disqualifying information.

Roman Polanski banned from Academy
Roman Polanski, during a photo shoot session with a 13-year-old girl at Jack Nicholson's house, the girl was given champagne and some sedative during the shoot, then forced to have sex. Though the minor girl asked him not to have intercourse, he did not oblige.
The girl's mother called the police, and Roman Polanski was slapped with six felony charges, including rape, furnishing a controlled substance to a minor, and sodomy. He later pleads, not guilty.
This case went on for four decades, and he was later found guilty. And in May 2018, the film Academy announced expelling Roman Polanski over his alleged sex offense conviction.
Bill Cosby was kicked out of Oscar Academy
The comedian Bill Cosby was inducted into the Television Academy in 1992, the year his groundbreaking sitcom "The Cosby Show" aired its final season. And in 2018, he was removed from the Academy along with Roman Polanski was sexually assaulting a 16-year-old girl named Judy Huth at the Playboy Mansion in 1975.
In 1975 Bill Crosby invited Judy Huth and her other 17-year-old friend to his mansion and molested her by giving her some beer. In 2014, Judy Huth filed a civil lawsuit seeking damages for emotional distress and was framed as a sexual offender. Carmine Caridi the American film, television, and stage actor best known for his roles in The Godfather Part II and The Godfather Part III. In 2004, Actor Carmine Caridi, who acted in Godfather films, was the first person to be kicked out of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences 2004 for sharing screeners.
Carmine Caridi's strength as an actor got him steady work for many years, eventually earning him membership in the Academy. As a member, he was privy to screeners and VHS tapes of films being considered for Oscar. He'd see the movie only available in theaters from the comfort of his home and vote on awards.
Russell Sprague, a Chicago movie fan, was introduced to Carmine Cardidi by another member of The Godfather III cast. They became friendly after Sprague fixed Carmine Caridi's VCR, sharing a love of movies. Later he went on to share the screen with his friend.
As part of his agreement with the Academy, sharing is illegal. Later, things went out of control, and the FBI was involved. Instead of copying the movies, Carmine Caridi sent him for personal viewing; he'd distribute them on the internet. Russell Sprague turned out to be one of the most notorious film pirates in the country.
Later, Carmine Caridi admitted wrongdoing, and Russell Sprague also pleaded guilty. He died in jail from a heart attack while awaiting his second trial. Despite being released initially, he was caught again for more piracy.
Richard Gere banned from the Oscar
