Kim Kardashian and Kanye West were announced legally single at a hearing back in March, but the resolution took months as West dragged his feet on the divorce. In the end, they filed documentation to complete their divorce on Tuesday, Nov. 29, according to the sources. As part of the acceptance, Kardashian and West will share joint custody with "equal access" to their four children.

The Legal Documents

According to documents obtained by Rolling Stone, Kanye West will provide Kim Kardashian with $200,000 a month in child support. Each parent is set to cover 50% of their children's educational and security expenses.

The documents, which a judge still needs to sign for their case, also note that disputes related to their kids will require both parents to participate in a mediation. If one parent fails to participate, the other can decide by default.

The division of their assets, including property, will be distributed according to their prenup, which includes an agreement by both Kim Kardashian and Kanye West to waive spousal support.

The Dating Scan

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West began seeing each other in 2012, and the following year, their first baby girl, North, was born. They were wedded on May 24, 2014, and have three more kids, Saint (born in 2015), Chicago (born in 2018 as a surrogate), and Psalm (born in 2019 as a surrogate).

The "51/50"

Earlier this year, in July, Kanye West notably fired off several since-deleted tweets, claiming the Kim Kardashian family had attempted to "51/50" him ("5150" is short-hand for a California lawful code to institutionalize someone for mental health reasons).

After six-and-a-half years of marriage, Kim Kardashian filed for divorce in February last year. The following months were tumultuous as Kanye West took to social media to publicly ask for a reconciliation with Kim Kardashian and criticized the shapewear mogul and her new boyfriend, Pete Davidson.

Kanye West's Message

Emerge on the Drink Champs podcast last November; he declared Kim Kardashian is "still his wife" despite the divorce. In his "Thanksgiving Prayer," he said, "All he thinks about every day is how he gets his family back together." At a huge concert at the Los Angeles Coliseum in the previous December, he switched the lyrics of his "Runaway" to "He needs Kim to run right back to him, baby/More specifically, Kimberly."

The Accusations

In a new court filing this year, Kim Kardashian argued that Kanye West was causing her "emotional distress" by openly sharing about their relationship and falsely said he might face financial harm if their wedding is over ahead of a conclusive settlement on property and custody issues.

Kim Kardashian's Statement

She very much desires to be divorced. She has asked Kanye West to keep their divorce private, but he has not done so," Kim Kardashian said in a statement to the court. "Kanye West has been putting a lot of misinformation regarding their family issues and co-parenting on social media, which has created psychic distress. She believes that the court terminating their marital status will help Kanye West accept that their marital relationship is over and move forward on a good path which will assist them in peacefully co-parenting their children."
