Mishavonna Henson’s Performance  American Idol standout Mishavonna Henson advanced to the season 8 Top 36. Her Hollywood and semi-final performances garnered an enthusiastic following. But a stacked week of semi-finals that included Kris Allen, Adam Lambert, and Allison Iraheta meant she didn’t stand a chance to advance. After the season, the singer disappeared. Now she needs your help. The Rising Money Show  The singer was only 18 in 2009 when she competed on the show and created a GoFundMe to raise money.

She’s homeless, has no medical insurance, and suffers from several mental and physical ailments. Mishavonna’s Speech  “Hi everyone! My name is Mishavonna, and I have recently become homeless,” she writes. “I currently live in my car, and besides being nearly 4 months late on my car payment, my battery is dying, my oil is putrid, and I can’t run the AC even though it’s the middle of summer.”The Sad Story  She continues, “On top of that, I have many hospital bills. I have visited the ER five times this year already. And lastly, but probably most importantly, I can’t afford my insurance, which means I can’t afford my medications, which will end up deadly.

I’m diagnosed with schizoaffective, and I have Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome and Gastroparesis. I absolutely cannot go without my meds. She Asked For Help “So if any of you kind people would care to donate I will be forever grateful. Every penny counts. This is very much life or death. Thank you in advance!”Why They Don’t Air Her Audition  American Idol didn’t air Mishovanna’s audition. But once she appeared in Hollywood, fans noticed. Her Top 36 performance of Train’s “Drops of Jupiter” solidified her position as a fan favorite.

Mishavonna Suddenly Disappeared When FOX aired American Idol’s last season on the network, outlets reached out to speak with alums of the show. The Orange County Register caught up with a bunch of local alums but noted that their reporters couldn’t track Mishavonna down. “Of all the “Idol” singers connected to Orange County,” The OC Register stated, “she’s the hardest to track down today. She cut a Christmas duet with country star Crystal Gayle in 2010 and married a couple of years later. After that, her website goes dormant, and her social media goes cold.” However, she did join TikTok in 2021 and posted a few covers. Her Elimination Another tidbit: Season 7 alum Jason Yeager posted snarky Season 8 recaps.

Mishavonna was a season 7 returnee, cut in Hollywood, and never highlighted. Jason shared a dishy story about Mishovanna’s Hollywood elimination. “According to Jason, she was “balling her eyes out” when she was cut from Hollywood, while her mother “ripped into her…said awful things to her…broke her spirit.”Opinions On Mishavonna  “She was a mess, ” says Jason. He claims Misha’s mom is the worst kind of stage mom and that he, David Cook, and Michael Johns were all “agitated.” It begs the question, where is the Mishavonna family? The stage mother accusation is interesting. Mishavonna captured guest spots on various network shows, acting alongside Kelsey Grammer and Nathan Lane. The Funds She Raise So far, Mishavonna has raised $100 in the 10 hours the fundraiser has been live. I’m sure her fans can change that.
