The actors come together onscreen in a new series starring Kurt Russell and Wyatt Russell

Suddenly Kurt and Wyatt Russell find themselves in front of a monster of a problem. Apple TV+ has cast the dad-son duo in its upcoming live-action monster series from the Monsterverse franchise, E! The news can confirm this. It sounds like Kurt and Wyatt are heading into a tumultuous period in their lives, regardless of what the show's title may be and who their characters are. The streaming service has announced that the series will explore one family's journey to uncover buried secrets and a family legacy connected with the secret organization known as Monarch following the thunderous battle between Godzilla and Titans that leveled San Francisco.

With Godzilla in 2014, Kong: Skull Island in 2017, Godzilla: King of the Monsters in 2019, and Godzilla vs. Kong in 2021, the series follows in the footsteps of the Monsterverse film series. The 36-year-old Wyatt Hawn is the son of Kurt Hawn and Goldie Hawn, one of Hollywood's most renowned actors. His biological father Bill Hudson, 45, as well as Oliver Hudson, 45, and Kate Hudson, 43, with whom he shares a half-sibling relationship, form the Hudson family.

A return to television for 71-year-old Kurt after more than 20 years marks the series' debut. The last time he appeared on television was in Amber Waves, which aired in 1980. He who played Elvis Presley in the 1979 TV movie Elvis earned him his Emmy nomination for Best Actor in a Drama Series. He was also nominated for Best Actor in a Comedy Series for Escape From New York, Silkwood, and Big Trouble in Little China. 

His career highlights include Lodge 49, which he starred in from 2018 to 2019, as well as Under the Banner of Heaven, a limited series that he starred in in 2022. Anna Sawai, Ren Watabe, Kiersey Clemons, Joe Tippett, Elisa Lasowski, and Ren Watabe appear in the new series.
