"They never got to play with Ken! Nobody bothers Ken, man "He laughed. "Did you have any fun with Ken? Yes, exactly. He's an accessory and not even a cool one."

In all sincerity, Gosling stated that the script for the Barbie movie, written by Greta Gerwig and Noah Baumbach, is the "best" he has "ever read," but he still had to take into account whether the role had been right for him.

The father of two daughters noticed that which he took as a sign: a Ken doll, face down, next to a mushed lemon. "Jimmy, do users know where I found Ken? Facedown in the mud alongside a squished lemon, "Gosling remembered. "I messaged [the photo] to Greta and said, 'I'll be your Ken because his story needs to be told.'"

At the Los Angeles premiere of his new Netflix action film The Gray Man, Gosling teased his excitement for his forthcoming comedy with Margot Robbie, in which he plays a live recording of the iconic Ken doll.

"We've had so much enjoyable making this film, and it's nice seeing everyone else having as much fun as we are. I can't wait for the film to be released and for the trend to proceed".

The performer also talked about his time working on The Gray Guy with co-stars Chris Evans, Ana de Armas, and Regé-Jean Page. He described himself as the "new guy" on set, despite his previous experience working with directors of the Russo brothers (Anthony and Joseph Russo) on Marvel films.

Gosling said

"Not just Chris and the Russos, but that whole squad has been continuing to work together for so long that it's just such a well-oiled machine," Gosling said of the production. "I was definitely the new guy, but I was just along for the ride, and I couldn't have asked for a better group to do it with."

The Gray Man is currently in theatres and on Netflix, while Barbie will debut on July 21, 2023.

Gosling added

"I was surprised, you know, how some people were clutching their pearls about my Ken," he explained. "As if they had ever considered Ken before this."

The girl's fathers began laughing about Ken being little more than an "accessory" for Barbie, to which Gosling added, "And not even one of the cool ones." The coolest ones are, of course, the car and the epic Dreamhouse.
