Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt's 2016 FBI report on their conflict on a private plane was requested in a Freedom of Information Act earlier this year.

During a custody battle with Pitt, 58, with whom Jolie shares six children, Jolie filed a Freedom of Information Act request under the anonymous "Jane Doe" name. New details are revealed in the heavily redacted documents concerning the alleged incident that occurred on Sept. 14, 2016, days before Jolie filed for divorce.

Pitt's arrogant attitude in jet

According to a tip from an anonymous source, Pitt was involved in a drunken argument with Jolie when they were flying home from France on their private jet. Sources at the time said Pitt verbally abused and physically abused one of their children on the plane. But Pitt refused to accept the part of abuse.

As of November of that year, the FBI had closed its investigation without charging Pitt. A DCFS investigation of the incident also concluded earlier that month without finding abuse. Jolie claimed she felt "like a hostage" on the plane on the day Pitt made his actions appear to her, according to the FBI report.

He is accused of grabbing and shaking her, pushing her into a wall, and punching the plane's ceiling. She admitted that she had wrapped her arms around Pitt's neck in a chokehold style during their dispute when he called one of their children a "prick."

Pitt "became a monster" on the flight, Jolie said, as he "ranted" on the plane and "mimicked the behavior of a monster while screaming at them." She was "shell-shocked" during the flight, she said.

As part of her complaint, Jolie claimed that Pitt "poured beer on" her and caused approximately $25,000 in damages to the plane, resulting from red wine stains. Jolie suffered back and elbowed injuries, as well as a "rug-burn" on her hand, while Pitt suffered a scratch that "could have been her doing."

His silence about the children's wellness

According to a source close to Pitt, Pitt and Jolie have had these documents for many years. The investigation was conducted, and no charges were brought. This type of information is usually not released since both parties had copies.

Public disclosure would harm the children and the entire family. Despite a never-ending barrage of attacks and legal attempts against him, Pitt remains silent on this issue since he knows it's best for his kids.

The pair separated back in 2019 after a judge declared them legally single. Their children include Maddox, 21; Pax, 18, Zahara, 17; Shiloh, 16, and twin girls Vivienne and Knox, 14.

In a 2016 interview with The Guardian, Jolie said that she didn't make decisions like those she had to make lightly when reflecting on her divorce. Jolie, who said, "there's a lot I can't say," said it took a lot for me to feel the need to separate from the father of her children. She said she felt "broken" by her experience and wanted her family, including her father, to move forward together.

The couple’s separated and friendly with their children

A source close to Pitt told reporters then, "I don't see how continuing this path will benefit anyone." Pitt has denied accusations of physical abuse. "I can't comment on Jane Doe's identity, who is trying to preserve the family's privacy, but I'm unable to do so," Amanda Kramer told Politico when the FOIA case was first reported in April.

As is common at the state level, survivors and victims should be able to access federal agency records related to their crimes, enabling them to seek help and trauma care and legal protection for themselves and their children.

It has taken our client years to obtain the much-needed records, and court action was necessary to obtain them," Kramer explained. "Legislative remedies are needed." A separate legal dispute is brewing between Pitt and Jolie over Jolie's sale of Château Miraval, the winery they bought together in 2008 and later married in 2014.

Throughout their relationship, they spent several family holidays together. Interestingly, a source told The Hollywood Reporter last month that Brad Pitt is still friendly with his children, even though they are older and have their own lives and friends.
