Here are some sweet celebs who have tied the knot with awful people

Some celebs aren't lucky in love. Everyone has experienced it at some point. Stars who are sweet have even managed to get into terrible relationships with people who aren't the best. When trouble walks into someone's life, it can be pretty hard to tell that something is wrong. Nevertheless, love also needs to be blind, deaf, and delusional to avoid running away screaming when it's revealed what you are.

It's the only way we can understand why these otherwise delightful stars got married to alleged cheaters, gold diggers, control freaks, and not-so-great halves. Every story has a couple of sides to it, but the court of public opinion appears to have come to a consensus about who should be held accountable.

Sandra Bullock

We all cheered for Sandra Bullock and Jesse James when she shed tears at the 2010 Oscars and thanked her then-husband. James' alleged cheating on America's sweetheart hurt twice that much. However, he did not just cheat on one woman, but at least another who was dressed in Nazi regalia.

Despite that, James might not have had a problem with it. There are some very unsettling pictures of him in Nazi gear that have gone public for quite a while, and he's been associated with Nazi-related art quite a bit. According to Us Weekly sources, the Swastika deal is meant to scare people. The culture of bikers includes this.

The picture shocked and saddened Bullock, and she kicked him to the curb. The hatred of Jews, the hatred of sexism, the hatred of homophobia, the hatred of anything Nazi, and more are all utterly unacceptable to me. There was something stupid and ignorant about this.

Paul McCartney

When Paul McCartney and Heather Mills divorced in March 2008, their marriage didn't seem like a big deal. Mills' attempts to wrest $250 million from the former member of The Beatles weren't appreciated by Judge Hugh Bennett, who presided over the split. Despite receiving $48.6 million in the divorce settlement, Mills still insulted McCartney as recently as March 2015.

My love for McCartney stems from the fact that he was just a regular guy who wrote a few excellent songs in the 1960s and 1970s. She said McCartney was irrelevant, adding that half of the kids coming up to her don't even know who he is, which is why he has to do songs with Rihanna and Kanye West to make people remember him. Additionally, she pointed out that she owned the world's largest vegan company.

Mariah Carey

Having previously married Tommy Mottola, Mariah Carey married a record exec with a reputation for being wealthy, powerful, and controlling. When Mottola met Carey, he was reportedly married and had children with a wife and children who followed her 24/7 - including to the bathroom.

In addition to dictating her entire life, he allegedly even told her how to stand and sit. Glitter, her 2001 album, and film, was also accused of being sabotaged by Mottola.

The relationship was essentially wrong and inappropriate, and he has expressed remorse for the discomfort and pain that all my good intentions inevitably caused her, particularly the scars that were left on my two eldest children. Even though he knows she's dead, he still talks about her whenever possible.

Jennifer Lopez

At the time, Ojani Noa, Jennifer Lopez's first husband, may have seemed like a nice guy, but after they divorced and she became famous, he was reportedly trying to sell her out. A month later, he said she "chose her career over her marriage" on Million Dollar Matchmaker. In addition to that, Noa had committed several other offenses as well.

Lopez sued him in 2006, alleging that a confidentiality agreement prohibited him from publishing a true-life account of their relationship. A year later, his iconic ex was permanently injuncted for criticizing, denigrating, or disparaging him.

According to the New York Times, La Lopez also was ordered to pay him $545,000 and provide her with all hard copy material related to the book he'd been trying to sell. A video filmed Noa and Lopez's brief marriage was reportedly released by Noa in 2015.

Zsa Zsa Gabor

She died in December 2016, and her husband, Frédéric Prinz von Anhalt, capitalized on the situation as much as he could. During her memorial service, von Anhalt spoke a lot about Hollywood and himself; he even acknowledged that he met Gabor after paying a photo agency $5,000 to take his picture with her. His platform also allowed him to call Elizabeth Taylor fat when she used a wheelchair toward the end of her life because he's a gentleman.

Robert Kardashian

A decade her senior, Thomas urged her to drop out of college, accusing her of poisoning her friends and family. Besides slamming her into walls, pulling her hair, and punching her, she claimed he abused her. Thomas allegedly encouraged Kardashian to get plastic surgery so that she could be perfect.

Moreover, he said Kardashian was trying to get more money from him as part of their divorce settlement by claiming Cris Judd, Jennifer Lopez's second husband, cheated on him.

Bethenny Frankel

It took Bethenny Frankel more than two years to divorce her ex Jason Hoppy. Frankel describes the split as ugly, as the couple married in 2010 and separated by 2012. The most troubling aspect of their divorce was Hoppy's alleged behavior.

A cease and desist letter was allegedly sent to Hoppy by Frankel's boyfriend, Dennis Shields after he was reportedly harassed by more than 100 emails from Hoppy.

It was reported on Page Six in January 2017 that Hoppy was arrested for allegedly threatening Frankel with a knife during a pick-up from her daughter, Bryn, which was also revealed that he had sent her more than 150 emails in which various insults and threats were made against her and Shields, including calling her "ugly," "hold," and "irrelevant."

Christie Brinkley

By 2007, Peter Cook was alleged to have gotten sloppy with his cheating on Christie Brinkley. Diana Bianchi, Cook's assistant, was allegedly hooked up with him behind Brinkley's back in 2005. In response to Brinkley's disclosure of the affair, Bianchi's stepfather filed for divorce.

Brinkley's estimated $60 million fortune was divided between him and his ex-wife, Sailor. The custody battle over their daughter and the money battle ended in his loss, with only $2.1 million going to him.

She faced similar infidelity as Cook's wife later in life, Suzanne Shaw. She apologized publicly to Brinkley after the couple split in 2014. Cook was later accused of taking photographs of women without the women's knowledge.

Anne Hathaway

Raffaello Follieri, an Italian businessman accused of scamming women, held a ring for Anne Hathaway that he said he'd bought for her. Still, their world abruptly crumbled when he made her promise to marry him. A four-year-old relationship had ended when Follieri was arrested for money laundering in 2008.

The Daily Mail reported that authorities seized Hathaway's diaries and personal photos as evidence from his Trump Tower apartment. According to the tabloid, Hathaway's resignation from Follieri's charity board was prompted by news that his organization was under investigation by authorities days earlier.

Robin Wright and Madonna

They have both been accused of being treated by Sean Penn, who married Madonna and Robin Wright. Penn allegedly attacked Madonna's friends and business associates, as well as some of her friends and family, when he wasn't in jail for other myriad legal offenses because of his jealous rages during his relationship with her.

The film What's Love Got to Do with It dramatized Tina's memoir, I, Tina, which details what he taught her about love and domestic abuse. When Tina divorced Ike in 1976, she claimed he broke her jaw at one point during his abuse.

Amy Winehouse

According to reports, Amy Winehouse and their husband Blake Fielder-Civil had a toxic relationship. Many fans believe that her downfall into drug and alcohol addiction began after she married Fielder in 2007.

During Winehouse's management years, Nick Shymansky told The Guardian that it was terrible to see her go from someone so tender, brilliant, and warm to someone who seemed kind of lost and abandoned. Fielder-Civil has become angry with me in the past, but in the end, he was a lost child with his issues.

In response to Winehouse's issues, Fielder-Civil denies responsibility. The London Sunday Times reported that he didn't think he ruined her. People need to realize that she had other addictions before she met me, so they don't assume she didn't have any.

To imply that I was some machiavellian puppet master and that I could manipulate her is disrespectful to her because she was not a happy, well-adjusted young woman.

Robin Givens

During her time with heavyweight champion Mike Tyson in 1987, Robin Givens was on the rise. This couple tied the knot after a year of dating, but there was nothing spectacular about their marriage. Givens explained that Tyson's intelligence is why she loved him during a joint interview with Barbara Walters in 1989.
