The Defense of Marriage Act and California's Proposition 8 were struck down in June 2013, which was a major turning point for the country. A number of famous people supported the change in their statements. But it wasn't just talking; many famous people promptly acted and subsequently got engaged or married. Elton John and David Furnish, Sarah Paulson and Holland Taylor, and other well-known queer couples have lived out their happily ever afters in the public eye. The American Horror Story star and Taylor have been together since 2015, and things are still going well.

Paulson revealed how her romance with the Two and a Half Men star started in January 2019. Despite becoming such a prominent couple, John and Furnish, who have been together since 1993, felt it was crucial to maintain their identities. Following the legalization of same-sex unions in the UK, the couple wed in December 2014 and have two kids together, Zachary and Elijah.

Kristen Stewart and St Vincent

At the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Show and Tea in West Hollywood, "Twilight" star Kristen Stewart and her musician boyfriend St Vincent made their first public appearance as a pair. After the two went together to see Stewart's movie "Certain Women," rumors of a budding romance started to circulate. St Vincent, whose actual name is Annie Clark, and model/actress Cara Delevingne separated during the summer after dating for more than a year.

Kristen was previously linked to French musician Soko and her former secretary Alicia Cargile. Kristen was formerly in a long-term relationship with her "Twilight" co-star Robert Pattinson. The actress recently spoke up about her love life to a magazine for its Women in Hollywood issue, and news of her new burgeoning romance broke just days later. Stewart claimed during the interview that she is not "ashamed" or "confused" about her sexuality.

Portia de Rossi, star of Ally McBeal, found true love in renowned talk show host Ellen De Generes after a string of relationships, including a marriage to Mel Metcalfe. Despite Portia's early reservations about coming out as openly gay for professional reasons, she eventually did so.
