Gina Rodriguez is already an expert working mom, despite the fact that her first child won't be born for another few weeks.

The former Jane the Virgin star is presently preparing for the Feb. 8 premiere of her new series “Not Dead Yet'' in addition to preparing for first-time fatherhood with husband Joe LoCicero.

The 38-year-old actress, who serves as both the executive producer and star of the ABC comedy, candidly informs News sources  that "that's what life is." "It's all happening simultaneously, everywhere, right? I adore that film, but I also think the title sums up life in general."

"It is everything. Everything is present at once. I'm just attempting to let go "She goes on letting go effectively sometimes. Sometimes, too tight of a grip."

Rodriguez strives to embrace life's ups and downs rather than being deterred by them: "It makes you feel alive to sit inside of it. I like that sensation."

In fact, the theme of her new series is accepting change; Nell Serrano, the protagonist, has just gone through a breakup and is returning to her California origins. She returns to her former employer in a new role, which leaves her feeling stuck and unhappy, but she is unprepared for the unforeseen ways in which the new job will change her life.

Making this television show, according to Rodriguez, has been "a fantastic experience, but also extremely monumental in my existence."

She says, "I really adore playing this damaged character who tries so hard and wants so badly to fix or to feel better or to simply be happy after this." "Over the course of the series, you'll discover why - what she endured, what motivated her to embark on this new path. I adore that so much."

Rodriguez says she thinks the series "is about self-reflection, and it's about growth, and it's about friendship, and it's about the power of self-healing" when characterizing it as a whole. She does, however, hint that Not Dead Yet will undoubtedly cause viewers to experience a range of emotions.

"It brings you to tears and makes you chuckle. Despite everyone's unique experiences, they are all attempting to support one another "She goes on. "I just think that right now, I want to watch the kind of television that allows me to unwind while also encouraging reflection that will leave me happy at the end of it. It will give me reason for hope. To be completely honest, I've just been in that space for years."

Being a part of a series like this has also given Rodriguez the chance to consider how she is living her own life, particularly with regard to being aware of and enjoying what is immediately in front of her.

She explains, "This is something I've been working on for years, but obviously due to the epidemic as well. It's just genuinely enjoying all that is and not what I wish it to be. "Really accepting the narrative that life is showing me as opposed to the narrative I desire, believe it should be telling, or believe it should be telling. I believe I have been living life to the utmost in this manner."
