Jenna Johnson's Pregnancy Reveals After Two Years Of Infertility

Jenna Johnson got candid on Tuesday about her journey toward pregnancy, revealing that she went through two years of infertility before finally conceiving.

Just days after she and her husband Val Chmerkovskiy announced they would become parents, the Dancing with the Stars pro, 28, looked back at the happy moment she received a positive result from her pregnancy test, sharing a video of the milestone on Instagram.

Jenna Johnson Explaining Her Surprise Moment

The moment my whole world changed, Johnson wrote, captioning a video of the sheer surprise she experienced when she first saw the result. She went on to take three additional tests, panning the camera across all four positive results.

Johnson wrote in the caption that we had stopped trying to conceive for about six months to give ourselves a break emotionally. So the shock, disbelief, and sheer joy at this moment are a memory she will never forget.

Johnson First Ultrasound Short Clip

Johnson also included a short clip of herself getting her first ultrasound. She explained further in her caption that our journey to this point wasn't easy, opening up about the pain of experiencing months and months of negative results.

She remembers watching people share these videos and aching because she wished so severely could experience that joy, Johnson wrote. After two years of infertility and hundreds of negative tests after negative tests, it was heart-wrenching at times to stay optimistic. It made me question whether I would ever have this opportunity.

Chmerkovskiy’s Journey Toward Pregnancy

She said she would "go into more depth" about her and 36-year-old Chmerkovskiy's journey toward pregnancy later. But she encouraged anyone struggling with pregnancy issues not to lose HOPE.

It may not happen on your timeline, and the journey may rip your heart open sometimes, but don't give up on yourself and your precious baby! It will happen.

In the piece, Johnson opened up about the creative way in which she shared the news with her husband. She went, and I got these Baby Jordans, these white sneakers," she said. She put them in a box that was his size Nikes. So he didn't expect anything.

I had been shaking at home, waiting for him to come home. So he casually walked in and he, ironically enough, had a bag of Nikes. Then I put two little pregnancy tests in there. She added that he came over, chucked off the box's lid, and started rummaging through it.

He looked at the shoes and asked, how small are these sneakers? Then it hit him and his face; it was priceless.

Scary Time Of Her First Trimester

Just shy of her second trimester, Johnson said her first trimester had been quite the journey, but she has been doing everything she can to stay mindful and positive. The first trimester is scary, and so many things can go wrong, she said. She has just taken this time to relax, stay calm, and keep my body healthy.

She continued that one of the best things for me was finding peace and not feeling like I needed to be so busy and insanely active. She thinks she is just giving my body the necessary rest. Jenna believes that's the best thing to do for herself. It's also just taught me that Jenna can be okay with downtime.
