Darlene Love wants to work with Mariah Carey on a holiday song!

Love, 81, is prepared to move on and record a brand-new duet version of her holiday favourite "Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)" with the "All I Want for Christmas Is You" star, months after publicly questioning Carey's attempt to copyright "Queen of Christmas" for her own use.

Len Evans, Love’s rep , tells news sources  that his client has always "liked" Carey but "didn't understand" her attempt to patent the "Queen of Christmas" moniker. "That's her wishlist for 2023," Evans says.

Love posted on Facebook after she learned that the 52-year-old "Hero" singer had applied to the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office to formally brand herself as the "Queen of Christmas."

She questioned the trademarking of "Queen of Christmas" by Mariah Carey at the time in a Facebook post. What does it mean that I am not permitted to use that title?

Love later stated, "David Letterman officially declared me the Queen of Christmas 29 years ago, a year before she released 'All I Want for Christmas Is You,' and at 81 years of age I'm NOT changing anything.'" Love is well known for holiday classics like "Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)," "All Alone on Christmas" from Home Alone 2: Alone in New York, and "Christmas time for the Jews" from Saturday Night Live.

(Last month, Elizabeth Chan, another well-known Christmas singer, revealed that Carey's attempt to possess the exclusive rights to the moniker, along with her attempts to trademark "Princess Christmas" and "QOC," were all denied.)

The five-time Grammy winner lauded Love in an Instagram video earlier this month.

In the video, Carey discussed recording "Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)" for her classic Merry Christmas album in 1994 and referred to Love as the "Queen of Christmas."

Carey exclaimed, "I listened to that song every year — like, every year — and it was a tribute to Darlene Love, the beloved Christmas Queen. "We are driven by her. She can keep that title indefinitely. Let's say we adore the music."

Evans tells News sources  that since the video was uploaded, Carey's fans have shown Love tremendous support and that all of the remaining dates on Love's holiday concert tour have been entirely sold out.

The last few performances she gave sold out immediately, and a few Mariah admirers actually waited outside to take selfies with her, according to him. "She was just relieved to hear that everything had ended on such a joyful note when they stated, "Hey, we didn't like you, but we love you now." She likes [Carey] even more right now."

Christmas (Baby Please Come Home), often known as the ultimate Christmas duet, is a song that Love would like to collaborate on with Carey. Oh my God, maybe I should record this with her, thought Darlene. Who knows, maybe we'll see them on stage together next year," says Evans. In 2023, Darlene would be happy to do anything with her.

In the near future, he claims Love wants to serve as Carey's "Queen mother" over the holiday season: "She says, 'I will hand her the Christmas throne, and we'll be there to assist each other’.
