A video of the Dancing With the Stars alum with a bald spot on her head was shared on TikTok. She wrote, "When someone notices my bald spot and wonders where it came from...," in a video posted on July 26 that clipped to a montage that showed her as a young Lifetime star.  As she explained in the caption, she lost her hair as a result of the "stress rash on my head" while she was on Dance Moms.  JoJo clarified the reason for the bald spot when a user asked if her tight ponytails caused it.

According to another video, she pointed to another side of her head and said, "No, it's not from the ponytails, because if it were from my ponytails, it would be like this." According to her, "When I was little, I had a bad stress rash right here on Dance Moms." The pressure Dance Moms alums faced while filming has been widely discussed in recent years. There have been complaints from stars like Chloe Lukasiak and Maddie and Mackenzie Ziegler that the show's dance instructor Abby Lee Miller creates a stressful environment. As Abby says in a video response to Maddie, "If it was so toxic, why did you keep doing it?"

As for JoJo, she still seems friendly with Abby after starring on the show from 2015 to 2019. In 2020, she told Us Weekly, "I talk to Abby more than anyone from the show because she's great. I think Abby was hurt by a lot of people so it's sad that a lot of people don't talk to her anymore." "She's a good person, so I think it's sad." Although you see her yelling at children on TV, Abby was a seven-star athlete, and I wouldn't be here without her.

Maddie and Mackenzie wouldn't be where they are today without Abby." As she prepares for her debut on High School Musical: The Musical: The Series, JoJo is currently preparing for her debut on the show. The season three premiere of the show, which debuts July 27, will feature her as Madison, an alumna of Camp Shallow Lake.
