The Cravings cookbook author is expecting a child with husband John Legend, she announced on Aug. 3. Sharing photos of her budding baby bump, Chrissy, who has been undergoing IVF treatments, wrote The last some years have been a blur of emotions. Still, joy has filled our home and hearts again. One billion shots later, we have another on the way.

Every appointment, she has said to me, ok, if it is healthy today, she will announce, but then she breathes a sigh of relief to hear a heartbeat and decide I'm just too nervous still, she continued.

She doesn’t think she will ever walk out of an appointment with more excitement than nerves; everything is perfect and beautiful, and feeling hopeful and amazing.

She added, Ok, phew, it's been very hard keeping this in for so long! The pregnancy news comes nearly two years after Chrissy and John, parents to daughter Luna, 6, and son Miles, 4, shared that they had suffered a pregnancy loss.

We are surprised, and in the kind of deep pain you only hear about, the kind of pain we have never felt before. We could never stop the bleeding and give our baby the fluids he needed, despite bags and bags of blood transfusions.

It just wasn't enough, Chrissy wrote on Instagram in September 2020. We ne'er decide on our babies' names until the last moment after their birth, just before we leave the hospital. However, for some specific reason, we started to call this baby in my belly Jack. So he will always be Jack.

According to the Chrissy's Court star, she became pregnant with him naturally, while she and John conceived their older children through the help of IVF treatments.

In December 2020, she opened up the possibility of having more kids, saying that though she loves being pregnant, I'm sad she never will be again.

However, I am lucky to have two amazing little ones who are transforming into big little people daily. It's frustrating. But I'm proud of where this journey took my body and mind in other ways, and she sent in a note reflecting on Jack's death.

However, by February 2022, Chrissy revealed that she had been deep in another IVF cycle to save many eggs and hopefully make some strong, healthy embryos.

She honestly doesn’t mind the shots; she quipped. They make me feel like a doctor.
