The American actor and comedian Cedric Antonio Kyles, famous by the stage name Cedric the Entertainer, is alive and well at age 58.

Cedric Antonio Kyles's initial life

Cedric Antonio Kyles was born in Caruthersville, Missouri, on April 24, 196, the son of Kittrell Kyles, an employee of The Missouri Pacific Railroad, and Rosetta Kyles, a schoolteacher, Cedric Antonio Kyles. After junior high school, Cedric relocated to Berkeley, Missouri, a St. Louis suburb in the north. Cedric was born and reared in Caruthersville, Missouri. He is a Berkeley High School alum. He then graduated from Southeast Missouri State University with a Mass communications degree and received a job offer from State Farm Insurance. Around the same time, he started doing stand-up comedy. Cedric won the Miller Lite Comedy Search award in 1990.

Cedric the Entertainer as game host

When The Wiz was revived at the Apollo Theater in 1995, Cedric auditioned for and was given his first acting role as The Cowardly Lion. He was the game host on Showtime at the Apollo, along with his acting career. He also served as the host of Def Comedy Jam in 1995 and BET's ComicView for the 1993–1994 season. He was famous for his roles as Eddie in Barbershop and Steve Harvey's co-star on the WB sitcom The Steve Harvey Show.

In the 2013–2014 television season, he served as the presenter of the show's eleventh daytime season. In 2016, the fifth and last season of the TV Land original series The Soul Man, in which he also appeared, was broadcast.

Cedric into the movie industry

Kyles made his first movie debut in 1998 in the movie Ride. He appeared in more than 30 movies, including Big Momma's House, Ice Age, the Planes franchise, The Honeymooners, Code Name: The Cleaner, the Barbershop franchise, and the Madagascar franchise

Voice-over for movies

Along with those projects, he has voiced characters for Charlotte's Web, Planes, Madagascar, Ice Age, and Planes: Fire & Rescue. He is presently a cast member of the CBS comedy The Neighborhood. 2019; he was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2019.

Cedric awards and recognition

In 1994, BET honored Kyles with the Richard Pryor Comic of the Year Award for his efforts as the host of ComicView. For his performance on The Steve Harvey Show and another for his voice work in The Proud Family, he was honored with four NAACP Image Awards for Outstanding Supporting Actor in the genre of Comedy. Kyles was chosen as the top comic for the White House Correspondents' Dinner in 2005 after Comedy Central listed him among the "100 Greatest Stand-Ups of All Time" in 2004. In 2008, he received a star on the St. Louis Walk of Fame.

Founded Charitable Foundation

The comedian founded Cedric the Entertainer Charitable Foundation Inc., and he maintains his relationship with his high school by giving a scholarship each year to a graduating senior.

Cedric shares two kids with his wife, Lorna Wells, son Croix Kyles and daughter Tiara Kyles and he owns a pet warthog. The couple got married on December 3, 1999. He also has another daughter named Tiara from a previous relationship. The couple had been married for two decades, and their bond is growing stronger and stronger, and currently; he now resides in Missouri with his family and owns a mansion in Chatsworth, California.
