On March 25, 1974, Lark Holloway was born in Nashville, Tennessee. Her parents, Tricia and Wayne, raised her in Pasadena, California. Voorhies froze up on her first audition, even though Lark's mother sent her to a talent agency early because she thought her daughter was "a natural-born ham." Lark made her television debut at 12 in a national advertisement for the Universal Studios Tour's King Kong ride.

Voorhies was cast as Lisa Turtle in the Disney Channel series "Good Morning, Miss Bliss" in 1988 after appearing in a guest role on "Small Wonder." After 13 episodes, the show underwent a makeover to become "Saved by the Bell" in 1989. Lark joined the cast of "Saved by the Bell," along with her "Good Morning, Miss Bliss" co-stars Mark-Paul Gosselaar, Dustin Diamond, and Dennis Haskins. From 1989 until 1992, Lark was dating her "Saved by the Bell" co-star Mark-Paul Gosselaar. She learned that her engagement to actor Martin Lawrence, who she had been engaged to since 1993, was over when he revealed his engagement to another lady while making an appearance on "The Arsenio Hall Show." Voorhies wed Miguel Coleman on March 9, 1996, and the two were divorced in 2004 after their separation in 2001.

After meeting at a networking event in 2014, Lark and music engineer Jimmy Green got engaged on April 30, 2015. Six months after the wedding, Voorhies requested a divorce. The divorce was finally granted in May 2016. Following the article's publication, Lark filed a libel lawsuit against "The National Enquirer" in 2006.
