The early life of Rainn Wilson

Rainn was born in Seattle, WA, on January 20, 1996. His mother, Shay Cooper, was a yoga teacher, and his father, Robert G Wilson, was a novelist. Rainn lived his childhood in Nicaragua, later moved to Washington, and attended Middle and High School. His family moved to Illinois, where Rainn graduated from New Trier High School.
As he grew up, he enrolled at the University of Washington in Seattle, did his honors in drama, and got his degree in 1986.
Rainn went to New York University's Graduate Acting Program at the Tisch School of the Arts. Rainn got an MFA in acting and joined an acting company. Before getting a break in tv series or movies, Wilson worked on various other productions.

Wilson first appeared in the television series One Life to Live in 1997. Two years later, he got a supporting role in The Expandables. The same year he made his debut in movies with
the sci-fi comedy Galaxy Quest.
In 2002 he got his leading role and the lead in Rob Zombie's debut horror film House of 1000 Corpses.
In 2003 he got various roles in Six Feet Under and racked up roles on Law and Order: SVU, CSI, Monk, and Tim.

'The Office'

Wilson acted in the famous sitcom The Office in the year 2005-13as character Dwight Schrute. On the show, Rainn gained popularity with his comic timing and unique spectacular look.
After he became famous with the show Rainn went on to the big screen and performed comedy in movies like My Super Ex-Girlfriend in 2006 and Juno in 2007, as well as in sci-fi features like 2007's The Last Mimzy and Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen in 2009. He is also a voice artist and lent his voice to an animated movie called Monster vs Aliens.

In 2007 Wilson was the second cast member of The Office to host SNL. He cameos in Family Guy and Comedy Bang!

Other work

After the end of the sitcom, Wilson was in demand and got a role in a detective series called Backstrom; he voiced the villain Gargamel in The Smurfs: The Lost Village.
He joined the Star Trek Universe in 2017 as Harry Mud. He did two episodes of Star Trek Discovery.
Rainn appeared in four episodes of the famous animated series Rattleballs" and "Peacemaster." 
He played Dr. Trevor Wells on the CBS sitcom Mom.
In 2020 he was a part of a tongue-in-cheek homemade "remake" of The Princess Bride. He played Fezzik in the movie.

Rainn Wilson has also been involved in charity work with Mona Foundation.
Wilson is married to writer Holiday Reinhorn. They met at the University of Washington and have been together since 1995.
