Season 4 Volume 2 of Stranger Things would have a high body count. Ross and Matt Duffer confirmed in their final episodes that their beloved characters would die. Does the season end with more than one death? "Yes," they replied. Matthew Modine's Martin Brenner (Mathew Modine) was shot by a sniper; Mason Dye's Jason Carver (Mason Dye) was ripped in half by an Earth fissure, and Joseph Quinn's Eddie Munson (Joseph Quinn) was eaten alive by hell bats after playing a hellish concert. One of the biggest shocks for viewers was Eddie's final death - his transformation from wallflower freak to eccentric hero was the best character development this season. I do not understand why he had to be the kind of hero who killed himself needlessly, even though he could have kept biking and the bats would have gone away by then, but, no, he had to turn back and fight, even though this would have saved no lives and only jeopardized his own.
Despite the excellent character development, there is a sense that Stranger Things is overcrowded with too many great characters. Millie Bobby Brown says the Duffers should have increased their body count this season." There are too many characters on screen," she told The Wrap. "Last night, there were 50 of us, so we couldn't take any group pictures.". 'We need to get rid of them,' I said to the Duffer brothers. They're two sensitive Sallie brothers who don't wish to kill anyone. We should emulate Game of Thrones. Ideally, we should think as we do in Game of Thrones. Eddie's death seems more predictable than tragic in contrast to We Need to Kill Off Some Characters. The plan was for Max to die this season-a death that would have been more shocking given her long tenure on the show but she was revived instead.
Getting back to Brown's point about consequences and stakes: are our heroes ever in danger? Can they recover from it? Does Eddie?According to the Duffer brothers, yes. It has been confirmed by the creators, writers, and directors of Happy Sad Confused that Eddie Munson will not be returning. According to actor Joseph Quinn, he doesn't hold out much hope that he will return for Season 5. I was initially told very little. I was told I would appear in at least four episodes, but I wasn't optioned for another season, so I thought maybe if I did all right they would ask me back. I guess that didn't work out. They killed me. I guess that's fine. I'll just clean myself up."He told Radio Times that he and costar Joe Keery discussed Quinn's return, speculating that he would appear as a hallucinogenic vision in Dustin's (Gaten Matarazzo) storyline. Nevertheless, Quinn is generally satisfied, even without another line. Actors are looking for characters with these kinds of arcs. Though I would have liked to see all those lovely people again, I think it was a brilliantly realized ending for a brilliantly written character.
