After months of teasing plans to create a rival to ChatGPT, Elon Musk announced on Wednesday the establishment of a new company focused on artificial intelligence.
The organization, called xAI, divulged a site and a group of twelve staff members. The new organization will be driven by Musk, as per the site, and "will work intimately with X (Twitter), Tesla, and different organizations to gain ground towards our main goal."
Rise of artificial intelligence
"The objective of xAI is to figure out the real essence of the universe," the site states, repeating language Musk has used to depict his artificial intelligence desires. Musk was an early sponsor of ChatGPT-maker OpenAI, yet later criticized the organization for contributing protections that plan to forestall the viral chatbot from heaving one-sided or misogynist reactions.
Chase for the AI tool
Musk stated that he had teased plans for his new AI venture in an April interview with Tucker Carlson, who hosted Fox News then. We will begin something which I call TruthGPT," he said, depicting it as a "greatest truth-chasing computer-based intelligence" that "thinks often about grasping the universe."
Musk's declaration of the new organization comes long after he cautioned in a meeting that simulated intelligence could cause "human progress obliteration" and joined other tech pioneers in requiring a respite in a "wild" Simulated intelligence race.
Staff recruitment is active
Although the company's website indicates it is actively recruiting staff, a few additional mission details were immediately available. There are a dozen staff members on the website, all men. The declaration of Musk's most recent endeavor comes at an unstable second for Musk.
After Meta launched a rival app called Threads, Twitter, which he acquired in October for $44 billion, now faces an uncertain future. Over 100 million people signed up for Meta in less than a week. In the interim, there were various reports of Twitter's utilization declining.
Owner of different organizations
After alienating some users and advertisers for months, Musk cut staff, pushed through controversial policy changes, and made several incendiary comments. Notwithstanding Twitter, Musk runs a few different organizations, including Tesla, SpaceX, Neuralink, and The Exhausting Organization.
