Former Harry Potter star Matthew Lewis certainly didn't have a magical experience when he flew with an American airline he claims tore up his first-class ticket.

The First-class Ticket. Harry Potter star Matthew Lewis, who played Neville Longbottom in the wizarding series, has slammed a Canadian airline after they "tore up his first-class ticket.

The 33-year-old actor took to Twitter to vent his frustrations about Air Canada after he claimed that they "kicked him out" of the first-class "to the back of the plane" in what he says was "less than two minutes to boarding and without explanation or apology.

In his first tweet, Matthew wrote: “Confirmed. Air Canada is the worst airline in North America. And that’s saying something" before he went all out to explain the situation in the comments on that post as he replied to other Twitter users.

The Comments

In one comment, he said: “Kicking me out of first class to the back of the plane is what it is, but doing it at the gate. Tearing my ticket up. No explanation is other than 'full flight.'Said if I wanted to sort it I should go to customer service. I asked where that was 'Toronto'. I’m in Orlando,” he continued. Honestly never experienced anything like it. I’ve been bumped before. Comes with the territory.

But at the gate, less than two minutes to boarding and without explanation or apology? Never. They even said if I wanna complain or get a refund I have to reach out to them. According To CTV News. Matthew was so enraged that he even spoke to CTV News Toronto in a statement that the practice of overbooking flights needs to stop. He said: “Air Canada customer service is s***e. And we as a society should not be okay with normalizing the profiteering of overbooking flights and kicking people off flights.

Air Canada’s Reply

Air Canada eventually replied to Matthew's tweets, saying they "regret hearing this" and asking him to contact them. However, it is not known if the actor has done so.

OK! have contacted Air Canada's press team for comment. His tweets were mixed reactions from Twitter users, with some agreeing with him and some branding him a "spoiled brat. Pre-pandemic, I thought Air Canada was one of the best airlines in the world. A bit over-priced, but good service, good food, and great in-flight entertainment. Now, it’s worse. I’m sorry you went through that.

Another person wasn't so agreeable with Matthew as they commented: “You might have acted a nice guy role in Harry Potter movies but in real life, you come across as a spoiled brat.
