Following his team's denial, Drake appeared to confirm he was detained in Sweden. In a photo posted to Instagram Sunday, the "Jimmy Cooks" rapper displays a document detailing his rights as a detainee in the European country.
“Information for Those Suspected of a Crime and Subsequently Detained,” the sheet indicated at the top underneath the word “Polisen,” which is Swedish for police. The printout then outlined the rights of the detainee and those of those who are "not Swedish citizens," such as Drake, who was born in Canada.
Also described in the document was what happens once an individual has been detained, including an interrogation period of “a maximum of six hours,” or being incarcerated.
The 35-year-old rapper also posted a video of his friend Chubbs dancing at a club and a picture of another friend kayaking. “I want to see the Ibiza Chubbs family,” he captioned the post. A Swedish police run-in was initially denied by Drake's team.
Last week, rumors floated that Drake was charged with marijuana possession after arriving in Sweden on his private jet called Air Drake and partying in a Swedish club.
Twitter trended the hashtag #FreeDrake because of the speculation. The Hollywood Reporter was told by Drake's team that he was in his hotel in Stockholm and not arrested. Although they did not deny his detention, they did not dispute it.
In response to the request for comment, Drake's rep did not immediately respond.
