On Tuesday, while the entire world watched Apple's 'Wonderlust' event, the Silicon Valley giant announced the release date for its upgraded operating system.
On September 18, Apple will release iOS 17, including new capabilities for various iPhones, including the iPhone 15.
The upgrade affects all iPhone features, including the phone, texting, and applications. Additionally, iOS 17 will provide additional functions and modes to the iPhone and AirPods Pro.
Users of iPhones will be able to put their devices into standby mode as they charge on their side. The phone can run widgets, cycle through images, and act as a clock in this mode.
Live voicemail screening will also be a feature of the new operating system. With this function, a user may read a voicemail's transcript in real-time and choose whether or not to answer the call.
Users of FaceTime will be able to mirror their calls onto an AppleTV gadget. The incoming video will be displayed on the bigger screen, while the iPhone or iPad will act as the departing camera.
iPhone users can exchange contact information by holding their phones close to one another thanks to the new NameDrop function, a development of the AirDrop capability.
Additionally, iOS 17 users may set the system to automatically mute incoming FaceTime calls from people they don't know.
For people who use iPhones as phones, the app can add visual alerts to notify a user when a contact calls. Additionally improved by the upgrade are the text prediction and autocorrect features.
With the upgrade, the AirPod Pro will have Adaptive Audio. The mode will adjust the media and noise cancelling volumes according to the user's surroundings.
