The two firms can conduct several pilot programs in the upcoming years that include a test fleet to test automated trucks with a human backup driver behind the wheel for safety in Texas.

Waymo points out, that automatic technology can profit long-haul truckage and it also helps to reduce traffic accidents.

What could be the motive?

The main objective is to exhibit how Waymo’s automatic technology can give relief to the sudden shortages of the driver and to the fleets that are struggling with hauling freight restraint.
