Les Dennis came from a comedy act on the stages of northern working men's clubs. The 69=year-old man, Les Dennis, shot to fame in 1974 after winning ITV talent show New Faces. Not only that, in the same year he married his first wife, Lynne Webster. From that marriage he has a son named Philip.

Boost His Career

In the 1980s, Les Dennis's career really took off after he impressed many people on The Russ Abbot Show, with Dustin Gee. Les Dennis and Dustin Gee's chemistry made them get their own programme, The Laughter Show. Unfortunately, Dustin Gee died in 1986, at the age of 43, from a heart attack. So, Les Dennis continued the show on his own.

A year after that, Les Dennis was offered the opportunity to be host of the popular game show, Family Fortunes. Surely, Les Dennis made it his own and remained on the programme for 15 years. Amid his hosting in 1997, Les Dennis was surprised by Michael Aspel who appreciated his career up until that point in an episode of This Is Your Life.

Marital Affair

In 1995, five years after divorcing with his wife, Lynne Webster, Les Dennis married an up-and-coming actress, Amanda Holden, who was 17 years ages below him. That marriage just survived for a couple years because of an issue rocked by a cheating scandal between Amanda Holden and Neil Morrissey, Men Behaving Badly star, who had been having an affair in 2000. Finally, Les Dennis and Amanda Holden divorced in 2003.

After his marriage ended, Les Dennis starred in Celebrity Big Brother, something he later regretted and mentioned as ‘not the wisest move’. It caused by he was emotionally vulnerable during the show and referenced his marriage woes several times in conversations with his housemates, which sparked concern from viewers.

Recently, Les Dennis had the opportunity to join the Strictly Come Dancing. He was revealed as the final star signing of this year's line-up on Good Morning Britain. He was totally disagreed when the host, Ben Shephard, suggested Strictly will be a walk in the park for him because of his stage experience. He said that he was not trained at all and certainly did not know about the Cha Cha Cha.
