The Instagram debate gets a boost from Trevor Noah. “The Daily Show” host described the recent updates to the app on Wednesday: “Everything is an advertisement, and you have people you don't know in your feed.

It's so confusing - I scroll and read someone's post and I'm like, 'Do I know this person?' Would I be attending the wedding?’

Suddenly, it says, 'Because you follow your friend, we thought you might like a post from a stranger.' No, I don't.

Noah then poked fun at Instagram responding after 'the royal family of Instagram stepped into the fray.'

'Oh yeah, people, you thought Instagram was just for pictures of your friends, well that's over!”

Noah spoke after showing a news clip showing Instagram head Adam Mosseri defending the updates on Twitter. I was always b**ching about brunch pics, now you'll be begging to see them!”

In light of Instagram's recent interest in algorithmic advertising, Noah said he was worried because it would change everything.

He explained algorithms are 'only about engagement.'. In other words, algorithms feed you things that make you angry, sad, or horny.

Now, the tricky part about that is that everything happens within a few posts. 'It's an emotional rollercoaster,' he said.

That a** voted for Trump, but I'm mad about this random racist event, and I'm sad about all the poverty, and Goddamn that a** is fine.'
