Markle is back in the news, this time as the father of Meghan Markle, Duchess of Sussex. In a restraining order put in place by Jeff Rayner, Coleman-Rayner's co-CEO (co-chief executive officer), he has been ordered not to contact him.
From the time his daughter became engaged to Prince Harry, Markle has been vocal with the press. By text message, the prince warned his soon-to-be father-in-law that the press would destroy him in 2018, Insider reported. As Harry wrote in his text: 'Speaking to the press WILL backfire, trust me.
Only we can help you, as we have done since day one.' Now Rayner says he fears for his life and Markle is back in the news. Markle told TMZ she would kill Rayner if they told her she had terminal cancer so she would 'have nothing to lose.'
The restraining order reportedly stems from the book 'Revenge: Meghan, Harry, and the War Between The Windsors' by Tom Boyer. Markle is quoted as saying: 'I got screwed by Rayner and I want to tear him down before I die. If they tell me I have terminal cancer, then I will kill him so I have nothing to lose.'
TMZ obtained documents that quote Rayner as saying 'I anticipate (Markle) will use a gun or other weapon' in the event of an attack. During his daily life, Markle's revenge thought causes him anxiety and stress, says the tabloid boss.'
According to TMZ, the Duchess' father has provided an update: It's ridiculous and pathetic that Jeff Rayner has been threatened by a 78-year-old man who has just suffered a heart attack and stroke and walks with a cane -- that's embarrassing for you.'
'Another thing, you should file a complaint against me as well, since I feel the same way my father feels about you and your company Coleman-Rayner.'
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have not responded to this current situation, but Jeff Rayner and Thomas Markle will continue to provide updates as the story unfolds.
