The 10 Best Christmas Movies Of The 2000s That You Should Watch In The Holidays

By FactsWow Team

Bad Santa (2003)

Modern Christmas movies are largely profane and play with holiday traditions. After years of sincerity and goodwill towards men, the industry has grown weary of it. Bad Santa is an excellent starting point for illustrating this list and the 21st-century Christmas movies. After all, Billy Bob Thornton plays a terrifying dork who steals jobs and places as Santa Claus in a shopping mall.

Elf (2003)

Elf also embraces Christmas traditions for its humor, but in a lighthearted way, partly because it's a family movie. It's the defining Christmas movie of the last few decades. Will Ferrell excels at the height of his career as Buddy, who grew up in the Arctic but found his way back to the 'normal' world.

Love Actually (2003)

Love gained considerable popularity, with some detractors saying, 'This movie is a little weird,' another direction. It's also one of the defining Christmas movies of the new millennium for him, albeit with some oddities.

The Polar Express (2004)

The Polar Express was a hit. It has become a TV staple during the holidays. It is a nightmare fuel. Robert Zemeckis' films are the dictionary definition of the uncanny valley, but those faces seared the film into our brains and norms.

The Ice Harvest (2005)

Looking for a dark crime thriller over the Christmas holidays? The Ice Harvest is a good choice. There are a few other faces familiar to Christmas movie buffs, including Billy Bob Thornton and Uncle Eddy's own Randy Quaid.

Kiss Kiss Bang Bang (2005)

Shane Black loves incorporating Christmas into his films. He also did it in Iron Man 3; that's his motivation. The Nice Guys is his defining work of the new millennium, but Christmas appears in about one scene in this film. Kiss Kiss Bang Bang offers even more about his season of the holidays.

Santa's Slay (2005)

Horror movie starring professional wrestler Bill Goldberg. It has problems and is still enjoyable for all its ridiculous nonsense and over-the-top humidness.

The Holiday (2006)

Nancy Meyers makes films about upper-class people with chaotic love lives and impeccable home decor. Women are to the kitchen what Martin Scorsese is to New York. Proxies often trump storytelling when watching Myers' films, including The Holiday, but this film is a star-studded affair with plenty of rich scenery.

The Santa Clause 3 The Escape Clause (2006)

With two Santa Claus movies released in the 2000s, why can't they become canon? The escape clause gave us Martin Short as Jack Frost. That's why this movie was cut. Besides, this series makes sense.

A Very Harold & Kumar Christmas (2011)

Of course, it again exploited/mocked his 3D rise as a fad. Assuming you don't have a 3D TV, all things 3D might not hit the spot right now, but Bad Santa tops it when it comes to raunchy Christmas comedies.
