Police were said to Texas GOP Sen. Ted Cruz's Houston house Tuesday night for documents of a teen with self-inflicted stab wounds, as per the ABC station KTRK, citing Houston police.

Police Department Received Reports

As per the KTRK, the Houston Police Department got reports just before 8 p.m. regular time on Tuesday of a 14-year-old with self-exacted stab cuts on their arms.

The Republican Lawmaker

In the neighborhood of River Oaks, the Republican lawmaker lives with his wife, Heidi, and their two daughters.

911 Call Involved

Authorities said the unknown teen was taken to the clinic but could not say whether the 911 call involved persons of Cruz's loved ones.

The Statement

In a legal statement late Tuesday, Cruz's office members said his daughter was good and questioned for privacy for the family.

This is a family matter, and fortunately, their daughter is OK,' Cruz's spokesman said in a statement to KTRK and other outlets.

'There were no serious injuries. The loved ones request the media respect their daughter's privacy at this time,' Cruz's office said.
