The history-making Broadway KPOP musical celebrates and depicts the Korean genre marvel of the title to play its last performance this Sunday after facing a battle at the box office.
The last performance of the musical features a group of K-pop stars and young actors, including BoHyung, Luna, and other actors.
The final Show will close on December 11, Sunday, at ‘Circle in the Square Theatre. As of now, it played a total of 44 previews and 17 regular performances.
Despite generating enough enthusiasm among pop fans, the musical couldn’t draw large audiences, or the viewers didn’t pay top dollar for tickets.
The Show, last week, got various reviews from critics, which estimated around $126,493 and 72% of location seats filled, and the average price ticket was a penny $32.
The Show started previews on October 13 and was officially released on November 27.
The Show KPOP, directed by Teddy Bergman, featured a book by Jason Kim and the lyrics, music arrangements, and production by Helen Park. In contrast, lyrics done by Max Vernon and Jennifer Weber made their choreography.
Apart from BoHyung, Luna, the Show stars Julia Abueva, Jiho Kang, Eddy Lee, Marina Kondo, Lina Rose Lee, Jiho Kang, Jinwoo Jung, Timothy H. Lee, Patrick Park, Kevin Woo, John Yi, Mina Lin, Min, Kate Mina Lin, and Joshua Lee.
Nevertheless, of its early closing, KPOP made history for the first Broadway production, featuring Korean stories written by Korean American Creatives with 18 cast members.
