There is never a dull moment for Neve Campbell. It has been confirmed by E! News that the actress will appear in David E. Kelley's upcoming ABC drama, Avalon.

Michael Connelly wrote the short story that forms the basis for the series. It takes place on Catalina Island in southern California.

A lone detective will be assigned to the tourist hotspot, and Campbell will play Detective Nicole 'Nic' Searcy.

Inscrutable but firm in her morals, Nic doesn't easily give in to intimidation,' reports the network. In an ironic twist, it was Nic's strong moral compass that got her banished to the biggest city on Catalina, Avalon.

It's not a job any career-driven L.A. cop wants, but Nic discovers that her valuable investigative skills are needed more on Avalon than she could hope for.

Campbell and Kelley reunited earlier this year after Campbell starred in season one of Netflix's The Lincoln Lawyer, which Kelley adapted from Connelly's The Brass Verdict.

There will be a second season for Campbell. Kelley is also the creator of shows such as Big Little Lies, Nine Perfect Strangers, Ally McBeal, and The Practice.

Campbell announced earlier this year that she would not return to the sixth installment of the Scream movie franchise, apparently due to contractual issues.

In a statement released to E! News on June 6, she revealed that she would not be making the next Scream movie.

I have worked very hard in my career to establish my value, especially in the field of Scream. I felt the offer I received did not reflect the value I have added to the franchise.

The actor played Sidney Prescott in all five previous Scream movies, including 2022's Scream.

Thank You!
