Elon Musk, the tech billionaire and the new owner of Twitter, recently discussed the importance of free speech and its implications on the platform during a two-hour-long audio chat on Twitter Spaces.
Musk believes that freedom of speech is highly unusual, and therefore it is important to fight to keep it.
He stated that 'controlled speech is the default, not free speech', and so long as you're not causing harm to someone else then you should be able to say what you want.
He also talked about the recent leak of tweets from the top of Twitter, which showed that the company had banned and censored people because of how they responded to an article in the New York Post about Hunter Biden's laptop.
Musk says that the data shows that Twitter was 'like an arm' of the Democratic National Committee in the run-up to the 2020 presidential election.
Musk said that more files would be coming out soon and that each one would be better than the last.
Elon also said that other media outlets would have to be more honest or lose their audiences.
The billionaire also discussed the risks of him literally being shot at, claiming that it is 'quite significant'.
He said that it was not hard to kill someone if you wanted to and he hoped fate would smile
