Their recent engagement rumors have been making u-turns on social media, and now Zendaya's mom Claire Stoermer is shutting it down.
The word's meaning was cryptically shared by Claire Stoermer on her Instagram Story on Wednesday while rumors of an engagement were circulating.
'Clickbait typically refers to the practice of writing sensationalized or misleading headlines in order to attract clicks on a piece of content,' the story read.
The quote further read, 'It often relies on exaggerating claims or leaving out key information in order to encourage traffic. The term is generally used in a dismissive sense.'
The engagement rumour first happened on Twitter when Pop Hive posted the couple's picture with the caption 'reportedly engaged.'
Pop Hive did not give any reference, but the post was made after an insider confirmed the couple's serious relationship to an outlet.
Tom Holland and Zendaya met in 2016 while starring as Peter Parker and MJ, respectively, in the movie, 'Spider-Man: Homecoming.'
The couple was called 'Tomdaya', and they were both spotted together making out in the car in July 2021.
