Last weekend both the films reached the $1.18 billion and $650 million mark. Barbie has made more money due to the fact that it is targeting an audience of a larger age group the genre being drama and satire comedy conversely, Oppenheimer being an R-rated film is a three-hour-long historical drama thriller narrating a story from the past. Hence Barbie was able to reach a wider audience. Both movies did spectacularly well in this 2023 movie summer season.
