The former friend of Mama June Shannon was given a legal victory when she took her to court. During an episode of A&E's Court Night Live on Wednesday, the Mama June: Road to Redemption star, 43, appeared as a defendant suing YouTuber Adam Barta, a former friend.

In her appearance on the show, Shannon claimed Barta used her image and name for his financial gain since she has been 'doing reality TV for 11 years and he knows that.'

Asked why she didn't propose a contract herself, Shannon replied, 'Because, at the time, I was in between managers, doing stuff on my own. And at first, I didn't think he was going to constantly ask for my involvement.'

'I felt like I was being used,' she said. My life, my TV show, and my life schedule prevent me from producing his show for free.'In addition, Barta confirmed Shannon would be paid for her involvement, denying that they ever had a financial agreement.

He explained to the judge that while he texted the contract to her, she never signed it or acknowledged it in any way. In March of this year, I returned it.'Our relationship has been established because of our work together over the years,' Barta said.

Shannon succeeded in getting the judge to rule in her favor, stating that Barta was drawn to her celebrity status and that she must be listed as an executive producer on the project and be paid $5K.

After the ruling, Barta said he just wanted his friend back. I was honored to be a part of this project, and she deserves to be named executive producer.'

Shannon told cameras afterward that he had gotten a very, very good deal. I hope his show succeeds ... and I hope he won't mind losing all the money he has set aside for this project, which would normally be $25,000 or more.'

Previously, Shannon appeared with her then-boyfriend Geno Doak on Barta's Celebrity Couch Coaster. While on the show, she said, 'I'm just trying to make some f---ing money so that I can support Adam and myself.'.

In the show, she explained how she went from losing Honey Boo Boo and jumping back up to Mama June: From Not to Hot. 'Now I'm back to the top.'.Judge Vonda Evans provides analysis for A&E's live legal show, hosted by Vinnie Politan and Judge Greg Mathis.

After Shannon's Here Comes Honey Boo Boo show was canceled in 2014 due to links to convicted sex offender Mark McDaniel, her TLC show was canceled as well. It was the same year that Shannon's daughter Anna revealed she had suffered from McDaniel since the age of eight.

In an interview with PEOPLE, she said that when he dated her mother, he 'would try and touch her' and all that stuff. After allegedly having crack cocaine and a crack pipe on her while dating their boyfriend Doak, Shannon was arrested on charges of possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia.

In addition to being charged with domestic violence, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia, Doak was also arrested. It was later revealed that she and Doak were addicted to meth at a rate of $2,500 per day.

Shannon revealed on Instagram in August 2020 that she had been sober for six months, writing, 'It's probably the most thing I'm proud of.'On their six-month anniversary on March 23, she announced on Instagram they had tied the knot with Justin Stroud, her boyfriend of less than a year: 'We're off the market!' she wrote.
