There have been a lot of talks lately about the Stranger Things star Jamie Campbell Bower releasing a brand new song next week called 'I Am. As Vecna, the sinister villain in the fourth season of the hit Netflix show, the actor and musician play the role of the actor and musician.
It was noted by Kerrang magazine that he was previously the frontman of the London punk group Counterfeit before embarking on his solo career.
The Tonight Show host Jimmy Fallon announced to Bower during a recent interview that he will be releasing a new track next Friday. “Alright,” he replied, with Fallon then confirming that the album's title will be ‘I Am.’
Bower continued, 'I can't believe how excited I am.'. He stated, 'Everything I feel right now just does not seem real at all.' He went on to share the exciting news on his official Twitter account.
A low, menacing Vecna voice was heard in Bower's recitation of Lizzo lyrics elsewhere in the interview. Moreover, he cited Doug Bradley as an inspiration for the role of Hellraiser.
When Bower was playing Vecna, he listened to Placebo's cover of 'Running Up That Hill’ to help him transition out of character. Stranger Things 4 featured the original Kate Bush version of the song prominently, which resurrected its popularity.
When Bower spoke to NME before starring in Stranger Things, he described how freeing it was to be a solo musician. As he said at the time, he felt in the best creative place he had ever been in.
It's important for me to be cautious here because I don't want to appear to be the lone wolf who doesn't need anyone, but there is something to be said for trusting your instincts.
As part of his seven-and-a-half-year sobriety celebration, Bower recently opened up about his experience with addiction.
