Conrad 'Nicky' Hilton (1950-1951)

As Taylor was raised with puritanical beliefs, he wanted to marry young. Hilton was the heir to Hilton hotels. It took Liz a few weeks to realize she had made a mistake by marrying the abusive and alcoholic Hilton heir, and they split eight months later. Hilton's stepmother, actress Zsa Zsa Gabor, claimed she had an affair with Hilton when he was 18 in 1944.

Michael Wilding (1952-1957)

In February 1952, Taylor married the British actor. The couple had two sons, Michael Howard, and Christopher Edward, who were both 20 years her senior. While Taylor was filming Giant, Wilding allegedly booked strippers at his home in 1955. During an epileptic seizure in 1979, Wilding fell and died from injuries. They divorced in 1957.

Michael Todd (1957-1958)

It was Taylor's pregnancy when the couple married in Mexico in February 1957. His lavish birthday party at Madison Square Garden in June 1957, broadcast on television, attracted 18,000 people. Todd enjoyed the media attention his marriage received. Sadly, Todd died in a plane crash a year after their wedding, leaving Taylor grieving.

Eddie Fisher (1959-1964)

The singer Fisher, the best friend of Taylor's late husband, Michael Todd, began an affair after Todd's sudden death. Fisher married Debbie Reynolds, and the media labelled Taylor a 'home wrecker'. The two were close since they were teenagers, and Reynolds was Taylor's matron of honour during her marriage to Todd. Taylor said Fisher was her only choice to grieve Todd's death.

Richard Burton (1964-1974 and 1975-1976)

As Taylor's fifth husband, Burton, and she married twice, they began an affair on the set of Cleopatra in Italy when both were still married. Taylor married Burton nine days after divorcing Fisher, after the paparazzi caught them on a yacht in Ischia, condemning them for erotic vagrancy. Their marriage did not last the second time around due to Taylor's alcoholism and Burton's infidelity. As part of Burton's gift, Taylor received a diamond necklace worth $1 million.

John Warner (1976-1982)

A politician, Taylor married John Warner five months after their first date. Taylor helped Warner run for office in Washington, DC, but soon got bored. Their relationship deteriorated in 1982 because Taylor became addicted to alcohol and drugs. They divorced in 1982.

Larry Fortensky (1991-1996)

Taylor's most anonymous husband was Fortensky, a construction worker. They met in rehab at the Neverland Ranch, where Taylor was close to Michael Jackson. The two married and sold their wedding pictures for $1 million to a magazine. In 1996, Taylor and Fortensky divorced but stayed in touch until 2011.
