She is the master of pretty much every genre in Hollywood

It wasn't until 1987, when Sandra Bullock debuted in the screenplay of 'Hangmen,' that she gained recognition as a leading lady in the film industry.

Bullock can excel in everything from classic rom-coms like 'While You Were Sleeping' and 'The Proposal' to gripping thrillers like 'Speed' and 'Bird Box,' showing that she is capable of doing it all.

Two of her films were nominated for Oscars for Best Actress, including the football drama 'The Blind Side' in 2010 and the space drama 'Gravity' in 2014, with the former winning the award.

Aside from that, she has also done several highly successful comedies such as 'The Heat' and 'Miss Congeniality.'

Her first break as an actress came when she took acting classes in New York City and starred in films off-Broadway as part of an acting apprenticeship program.

Those roles led her to some small roles in independent films before she broke out with 1994's 'Speed,' where she starred alongside Keanu Reeves and became an overnight sensation.

During the promotion of 'The Lost City,' Bullock had revealed to ET back in March that she plans on taking a step back from acting shortly. In her words: 'When I'm at work, I take my job very seriously. It's a 24/7 job, and I don't want to miss a minute of my babies lives.

That's where I'm gonna be for a long time.' Bullock told Vanity Fair that she is most happy at home with her children. The actress said that she finds happiness in being home with her two children.

However, Bullock also makes a cameo appearance alongside Brad Pitt and Bad Bunny in August's 'Bullet Train.'
