Letting go of someone must be very difficult, especially if they took their own life. Kellie Pickler speaks for the first time after 6 months about her husband Kyle Jacobs who died on February 17, 2023. During her statement to People she said, “One of the most beautiful lessons my husband taught me was in a moment of a crisis, if you don’t know what to do, do nothing, just be still, I have chosen to heed his advice.”

Her husband who died at 49 years old was a songwriter and producer. He died of a self-inflicted gun wound at their home Nashville, Tennessee.The toxicology report that was run and did not find any form of drugs in Jacobs body, however the report found that Jacob had a long history of “pseudoseizures, gastrointestinal bleeding, elevated liver enzymes, and chronic alcohol use.”

Don Aaron, Metropolitan Nashville Police spokesperson, said that they were called to the couples home at 1.21pm when Pickler woke up and could not find her husband and upon looking for him together with her assistant they could not open the upstairs bedroom door.The police statement at the time read “Officers and Nashville Fire Department personnel responded and located resident Kyle Jacobs, 49, deceased from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound in an upstairs bedroom/office.”

“His death is being investigated as an apparent suicide,” the stament concluded.The American Idol alum had publicly remained silent after the incident, however she finally speaks to the public about her husband’s death for the first time, she thanks supporters for their continued support during the darkest time of her life.Thank you to my family, friends, and supporters, for the countless letters, calls, and messages that you have sent my way,” she said

She continued, 'It has truly touched my soul and it's helping me get through the darkest time in my life. As many of you have told me, you are all in my prayers.'Pickler and Jacobs started dating in 2008 and got married in 2011 on a private island in the Caribbean.

Days after getting married, Pickler tweeted, 'Private Island. Caribbean. Cigar in one hand, Rum in the other. Someone just called me 'Mrs. Jacobs.'….sounds nice. 'Pickler and Jacobs started writing songs together a day after they met. They worked together on her single Feeling Tonight.

Jacobs was also a beloved member of the music community. He co-wrote Garth Brooks’ 2007 No. 1 hit “More Than A Memory.” He also co-wrote Top 10 singles 'Still' by Tim McGraw and 'Dust' by Eli Young Band.Moreover, he produced four No. 1 singles for Lee Brice, 'Hard To Love,' 'I Drive Your Truck,' 'Drinking Class' and 'Rumor.”

Pickler further asserted on Thursday that 'I am planning an intimate memorial for my husband, which will happen later this fall, that is what Kyle would have wanted.”
