If you've noticed more Reels on Instagram lately or less engagement on your posts and thought the platform looked a little too much like TikTok, you're not alone. Among app users, the second most-followed person agrees.

Taking to her Instagram Stories today, Kylie Jenner shared a screenshot of another user's post, remembering the good old days of Instagram.

In the post, it says, 'Make Instagram Instagram again.'. With sincere gratitude to all.' Kim Kardashian shared the same post, which currently has more than 1.1 million likes.

It is not a new phenomenon that Instagram is slowly encroaching on TikTok territory - Meta, the company that owns Instagram, is pushing a product called Reels for months, as well as its own TikTok clone.

There have been incentives for creators incentivizing them to make Reels by offering them cash bonuses, and the company has also stated that it downranks VIDEOS that are reposted from TikTok in its algorithm.

Jenner has seemingly suffered silently for a long time. It seems that recent changes, such as the full-screen effect on videos and last week's announcement that almost all new videos posted to Instagram will automatically become reels, have stirred up some controversy.

In terms of followers, Jenner is second only to soccer player Cristiano Ronaldo with 360 million. A billionaire bemoaning app updates is certainly not on the top end of things happening in the world. Even if their app is revised or their product is improved, their businesses will flourish.

More interestingly, Jenner often weighs in on social platforms, which makes it more likely that Instagram is interested in feedback.

Jenner tweeted in 2018, after Snapchat's redesign caused the company grief, that she no longer uses the app. Over the following day, Snap's stock lost roughly $1.3 billion in value.

As Jenner isn't the only one having issues with a short-form video-heavy Instagram, when Instagram posted a video announcing a full-screen video feed, the post was flooded with negative reactions, many of which express some element of 'NOOOOOOO!'.”
