While the fans are elated with the couple embarking on their marital journey, JLo's decision to change her name to Jennifer Affleck has not impressed them.
Jennifer Lopez changed her name to Jennifer Affleck following her surprise Las Vegas wedding to now-husband Ben Affleck.
The “Jenny From the Block” singer reintroduced herself with the new moniker Sunday in her “On the JLo” newsletter, in which she signed off, With love, Mrs. Jennifer Lynn Affleck.”
She confirmed her wedding news and posted some photos and videos from the special day. Meanwhile, Twitter reacts to JLo's move to change her name. Her fans took to the micro-blogging website and expressed displeasure.
The new name checks out with legal records viewed by Billboard, which show that the newlyweds’ marriage license was issued to both “Party 2 Name: Lopez, Jennifer” and “Party 2 New Name: Affleck, Jennifer.”
While that may have been an informal change for the sake of the announcement, the newlyweds’ marriage certificate, obtained by Page Six via Clark County records, shows that she plans to use “Affleck” legally going forward.
But after delaying their 2003 wedding, they went their separate ways in 2004. Lopez and Affleck went to marry other people and welcomed children with their former spouses before reuniting last year and getting engaged in April 2022.
Lopez, and the Argo star, tied the knot the night before in Sin City. Hours later, the “Selena” actress confirmed the news and provided all the details about their wedding, which included their combined five children.
She revealed that we barely made it to the little white wedding chapel by midnight. They courteously stayed open late a few minutes and let us take pictures in a pink Cadillac convertible, evidently once used by the king himself, but if we wanted Elvis himself to show, that cost extra, and he was in bed.
Lopez added that she wrapped a dress from an old movie to exchange vows and that she and Affleck gave one another the rings we’ll wear for the rest of our lives.
