The recent acquisition of Twitter by Elon Musk has led to the departure of numerous celebrities from the social media platform in the past few months.
While closing in on a $44bn purchase of Twitter, Tesla founder Elon Musk showed up at the social media platform's San Francisco headquarters with a kitchen sink.
In a tweet, Grey's Anatomy creator Shonda Rhimes said, 'I won't be hanging around for whatever Elon has planned. Bye.'
The Grammy-winning singer also added: 'I'm out of Twitter. See you on other platforms.' Welp. Twitter was fun, but it's just not my cup of tea.
After the recent acquisition of this platform, Toni Braxton wrote, 'I'm appalled at some of the 'free speech I've witnessed.
For real, Brian Koppelman, the co-creator of Billions, wrote: 'Hello everyone, you can find me over on Instagram and Tok for real. Gonna have a breather by the time the deal closes.'
Aside from Jameela Jamil, Elon Musk's acquisition of Twitter means I will quit being a complete menace to society, so it's a win-win for everyone.
To announce his departure, Stephen Fry posted a picture of his 12.5 million followers spelling out 'Goodbye' with Scrabble letters.
It has also been reported that several celebrities have lost their Twitter accounts after impersonating Elon Musk and changing their names to match his name.
