During an unexpected scene on Ghost, 66-year-old actress Anne Hathaway abruptly ended the daytime show's commercial break. Approximately 20 minutes into the ABC talk show, the scheduled commercials began.

Nevertheless, when co-host Sara Haines was asked to read a legal announcement about Republican Congressman Matt Gaetz and his views on abortion, Whoopi 'clapped back.'

Many of the show's fans have called for her to be fired, and her reaction to the commercial interruption caused the show's commercials to be delayed. In a legal note, Sara said, 'Congressman Matt Gaetz has not been charged with any crimes and has denied any wrongdoing.'

Despite this, Whoopi interjected, much to the surprise of viewers at home: 'Yeah, but you're a liar, sir.' We'll be back right after the break,' she added before the show finally ended.

On Twitter, someone wrote: 'Whoopi clapped back at that legal note hard as a mother! Yes, queen Whoopi!.'Another added: 'Whoopi, 'you're a liar, sir.' Is that something she can say on national television when they just read a legal note?'

According to one The View fan, 'Sara had to write another legal note!'Last but not least, I concluded: 'Whoopi is on fire today!'Last but not least, I concluded: 'Whoopi is on fire today!'

Sara had to act as The View's 'knock-off lawyer' to read a few legal notes to viewers in Sunny Hostin's absence. The show proved challenging for Whoopi, who also had to apologize to Sara later on.

A guest, the Charlamagne the God, appeared halfway through the episode, but only Whoopi and Joy Behar spoke with him for the first part. During a deep-dive discussion of politics, the moderator went over time, delaying Sara's presentation.

Despite having a scripted question to ask Charlamagne during the first part of his interview, there wasn't enough time and her moment was delayed.

After realizing what had happened, Whoopi apologized to Sara: 'I'm sorry, baby. Your turn now.'She told Whoopi: 'No, no, no!', knowing she didn't really have time to ask him everything she wanted to know. When we get back, I'll be able to get it.

The hectic episode also saw Whoopi accused of giving her co-stars dirty looks. In recent weeks, Whoopi has faced criticism for several blunders, leading some fans to call for her termination.

Since taking over as moderator of the show, the star has struggled to remember names and projects when announcing them. Whoopi was mocked back in May for mispronouncing the iconic Parisian museum's name.

Additionally, Whoopi has cut off Joy mid-conversation, tripped over her words, shaded popular singer Lizzo, and even screwed up her introduction of US Senator Raphael Warnock.

Following her 'racist' remarks about the Holocaust earlier this year, the Oscar winner caused plenty of controversies. An online petition has been circulated asking for her hosting duties to be revoked due to her 'repulsive verbiage and actions.'
