Viral' Toy Story' Hug Family Says Kids Of All Races Deserves Hug From Their Favorite Characters

The family behind the viral clip of Woody and Jessie from 'Toy Story' made sure to hug their kids at Disney World, saying their experience should be the norm for all children, regardless of race.

The couple Harold and Candice say they didn't know about the current controversy about costumed characters at other venues reportedly snubbing Black children. They merely posted the clip because they were happy their daughter, Hayyn, got an embrace from her favorite character. The parents say Hayyn would have been glad to get a wave from Jessie, and it was a big bonus when Woody flagged down Jessie to hug the little girl.

Hayyn was waiting on Jessie for the entire parade, also wearing a Jessie dress, while holding Woody and Jessie dolls. After posting their video clip, they became aware of the allegations at Sesame Place and Chuck E. Cheese. Harold and Candice say everyone's kids deserve at least some kind of acknowledgment, even if it is just a wave or blown kiss from their favorite character.

As we've reported, there is now a class action lawsuit against Sesame Place in Philadelphia. There's no doubt that the case helped online fuel interest in Hayyn's Disney World hug, a prime instance of how these interactions should ideally play out for all children.
