Tom Cruise has inspired many to understand that age is just a number. He has never thought twice before performing a stunt number; rather, he is known for his stunts. His thirst for performing the most dangerous stunts started almost three decades ago. In his “Mission Impossible” movie, the stunt numbers were more appreciated by the audience.
Even after all this, his passion for performing stunts and gigs doesn't fade away. He loves the rush of adrenaline that he gets when doing these stunts.
His recent adventure has inspired him to fly a 70M dollar fighter jet for his ‘Top Gun: Maverick’ sequel. Tom Cruise has returned as an airborne instructor pilot in the movie.
The dream did not turn into reality
Cruise, the movie's producer, seeks permission from the US Navy to travel with his most desired F18 Super Hornet jet that the US Navy was harboring. Little did the famous actor know he would not get permission to do the same.
The cost of an F18 Super Hornet is 70 million dollars, and the movie itself is half of the budget from the production team.
All these did not stop Cruise from performing the most dangerous stunts. In his recent interview with USA Today, Jerry Bruckheimer, co-producer of the original Top Gun movie, stated that Cruise is piloting multiple helicopters, a P-51, and an aircraft devoid of a Maverick’s F-18 jet.
The audiences are in for a treat in the Top Gun franchise movie.
Training the team
Cruise did not step back from the decision to use an F-18 in his shoot, and he has done some serious stunt numbers in the movie with F-18. Multiple cameras were set up inside the jet to make the scenes look realistic, and gave the cast performing on the flight, intense training and aerial boot camp sessions.
