Which home did she sell
Amber Heard has reportedly sold her home in California’s Yucca Valley two months after she lost the multi-million-dollar defamation trial brought by her ex-husband, Johnny Depp.
According to reports, the three-bedroom, three-bathroom property was auctioned in the market for $1.05m (£857, 283). Amber Heard purchased the property for $570,000 (£465,382) in 2019.
The new owners of the 2,450-square-foot estate are Rickard and Carol-Jeannette Jorgensen, who own Las Vegas-based risk management firm Jorgensen & Company LLC, as per the New York Post.
What was the previous listing of her property
The previous listing for Amber Heard's Yucca Valley home described it as a "once in a lifetime property" with several luxurious features, including a 110-foot engineered bridge that leads to a mountainside gazebo.
The amenities include front doors made of solid iron, a kitchen with a double griddle stove, and wiring for a surround sound system throughout the house. The main bedroom has a soaking tub, large stone dual sinks, and two walk-in closets. The garage, meanwhile, measures about 1,200 square feet.
Last month, Amber Heard filed a motion to appeal the verdict in the high-profile defamation lawsuit filed against her by Johnny Depp.
What was his allegation
Johnny Depp alleged that his ex-wife, Amber Heard, had defamed him in an op-ed published in the popular magazine. Amber Heard described her that "a public figure representing domestic abuse.”
Amber Heard filed a counter-suit in November 2020, asking for immunity against Johnny Depp’s claims.
On 1 June, a jury overwhelmingly found Johnny Depp’s favor, noting that the Aquaman actress defamed him in three statements. Jurors also found that an attorney for Johnny Depp had defamed Amber Heard in one of three statements highlighted in her counter-suit.
Compensation for the actor and actress
Johnny Depp was awarded $10m in compensatory charges related to his career blocklist and $5m for punitive destructions. Judge Penney Azcarate later reduced the punitive destructions to $350,000, according to the state of Virginia, where the trial took place.
For her part, Amber Heard was awarded $2m in damages for one of her three counterclaims. It left her in debt of $8.35m to Johnny Depp.
Soon after the trial finished, Amber Heard's attorney Elaine Bredehoft appeared on the talk shows to say that her client, Amber Heard, couldn't be able to pay the huge amount to Johnny Depp.
Meanwhile, Johnny Depp has been selling off his belongings after the trial, which cost him millions. Last week, the 59-year-old Pirates of the Caribbean star sold a collection of prints he created of Hollywood and rock icons for around £3 million via a UK gallery chain.
