People usually spend a lot of time on their hobbies, learning new skill sets, and mastering their chosen activity or craft. Some people enjoy pastimes such as hiking, which is easy and affordable for anyone to get into; on the other hand, some people engage in expensive hobbies that don't bother them because they are ready to spend any amount of money on what they love.

Therefore, we can safely conclude that people out there are willing to squander hundreds or even thousands of their hard-earned dollars on their hobbies only for the sake of pleasure. Hobbies like skiing need you to be physically active, while others like painting and sculpting need more of your mental focus. Let us see some of the most expensive hobbies across the world where people don't mind spending huge amounts.

1. Polo

Often, Polo is called the sport of the kings, and it is not difficult to find out why. Going back to ancient Persia, this is among the oldest team sports worldwide. The game has always been associated with wealth and luxury.

Still, polo is the most exclusive sport, with expensive facilities and equipment which cost millions of dollars. Despite the barriers to entry, learning how to play polo has become increasingly popular in recent years.

In more ways than one, Polo is the perfect mix of athletic abilities and strategy where players have to master horsemanship while making instant decisions on the field. For anyone with the means and the will to pursue polo, it can be an amazingly rewarding experience.

2. Collecting Art

For so many people, art is a source of inspiration and beauty. However, collecting art is also considered one of the costliest hobbies.

A single piece of sculpture or painting can cost you thousands of dollars, and even small repairs can add up quickly. Moreover, there can be many fluctuations in the value of an art piece with the period. Therefore, collectors must be ready to make some big investment investments if they want a meaningful collection.

Despite its cost, many people feel that collecting art is such a rewarding experience. It gives them access to exceptional and generally one-of-a-kind art pieces, offers support to artisans, and develops a connection with the art world.

3. Yachting

This is another expensive hobby. This hobby needs a big boat and a well-trained crew to maintain it. On average, you must spend millions of dollars to buy and operate a yacht.

But, for all those who love the sea, nothing is as satisfying as cruising on their own yacht. The sun is shining on your face, the breeze unwinding your hair, and the waves hitting against the hull – it is a refreshing experience.

Yachting also allows you to see the world around you from a different point of view. Once you are on a yacht, you would be able to explore deserted islands and coves which are unapproachable by the land.

Yachting is quite a popular hobby for the rich as it lets them travel in style and luxury. Many people who have a yacht also participate in yacht racing, which can be another massive expense.
