Mother of three killed by a truck going the wrong way on Connecticut highway. A day before her 42nd birthday, Monica Wilson died of fatal injuries. She was driving with two children, ages 8 and 7. After Wilson's car was struck "head-on" by a fourth vehicle traveling the wrong way (going north) on Route 8, "a chain reaction collision occurred."

He died at Bridgeport Hospital. There are no life-threatening injuries for the children with her. A 35-year-old Wilber Martinez suffered life-threatening injuries in the fourth vehicle. During the collision, Martinez was driving an uninsured Ford E-150. The other drivers were taken to local hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries.

The Connecticut State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Squad (CARS) closed Route 8 South for about five hours after the crash. Investigations are ongoing. Daily Voice reports Wilson worked at Broad River Animal Hospital.

Having suffered a great loss over the weekend, we have temporarily closed Broad River Hospital to ensure the well-being of our team members. We appreciate your patience and understanding during this very difficult time." I still can't believe it!!! You were just saying how you couldn't wait to see the baby. My heart hurts... RIP and Happy Birthday Monica Wilson Everyone."
