According to the Pew Research Center, as many as 91 percent of Americans favor the legalization of cannabis in some form, with 60 percent of those citing its legalization for recreational use and 31 percent calling it legal for medicinal use.

In a 2020 Gallup poll, the first to assess the public"s views about cannabis legalization since 1969, when just 12 percent of the country supported it.
